Nothing can be quite as adrenaline rushing as bidding on an item at a live auction. Hearing the booming voice scream "SOLD!" as the gavel hits the desk. Be careful, though, since you might get caught up in the auction and find yourself going home with a crazy old lamp that you would never want to display. A live auction can be a fun family activity or even a unique date idea. Sometimes they even serve some great hot dogs from the cart while you are watching the auction. Check your local listings and see when the next auction is happening. An estate auction is listed? Well, you never know what you will find there. I have been to many auctions from schools, to repossessions, and even a consignment auction and all had their own character, but were fun to watch even if I did not buy anything.
