Camps for Dogs- List #1

Spending your vacation with your favorite canine companion camping means fun dogs like me are not left behind, howling.  There are several that I found, so I will break them up into lists for future posts.  Keeping my posts short and sweet for the best readers a dog could ever have!

Here are two pretty cool ones.

Winnaribbun Camp This has dormitory-style log cabins for both dogs and their humans to be able to bunk together as well as over 33 acres to explore. How awesome is that?! According to their website, "Dogs and their people are invited to come together for action-packed and fun-filled weeks of canine celebration. Every summer, thirty-three acres of pine forest and private beach go to the dogs in the magnificent setting of Lake Tahoe.
Campers have the opportunity to participate in obedience, agility, herding, tracking, freestyle, and much, much more ...homeopathy, psychocybernetics, and first aid ... games, crafts, and photo sessions ... carting, flyball, and disc dog... nature talks, massage therapy, wonderful campfires with s'mores and storytelling. Sound good? Add great hikes and refreshing swims for a totally peaceful get-away".

Gone to the Dogs Camp. It looks like it would be a blast with so many things to do. Located in Vermont, Gone to the Dogs Camp has been written up by some pretty cool magazines as a top-notch place to see and be seen. They have training in Treiball, agility, obedience (darn it!), tracking, and herding. The list looks endless. Many of the activities I have never even heard of (but I will certainly make sure and find out about them and fill you in). The also have lectures (I am out on that! But I will send my humans to a few) and cool workshops with demos like canine massage (which I am totally in for). They also offer Pawtraits, which is good because I am very photogenic, and a Doggie costume party.

This sounds like a great spot to get away and bond with my Snickerdoodle (a girl's best friend).

    Dog-friendly Tips

Tank had been posting about his adventures and recommendations for a many years now. As a senior dog his explorations grew limited. He also battled with Canine Cognative Disorder his last two years. I am saddened to announce Tank took his last walk just two months shy of his 15th birthday.

For those who are his fans, know that he was always spoiled and loved. His explorations with us are our fondest memories.

Make sure to browse Tank's extensive archives for tons of ideas to enjoy with your best
    friend.
