First Class Hotels for Dogs

Well, if there is one thing I can say for reality TV, it is that they certainly made it hip to travel with us dogs to some of the best 5-star resorts. I have been perusing some of the best of the best hotels that deserve five barks from me.

Trump International Hotel & Tower, Chicago: has an in-room doggy dining menu, our very own bed, and access to the outdoor dog park around the Trump Riverwalk where we can get our exercise on before we come back to the hotel for gourmet treats.

Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gylch, Co: With some great hiking trails close by, we can get our exercise to work off the incredible room-service menu made just for us. Oh, and if I am a bit sore from all the hiking, you can always order us a massage.

Manderin Oriental, Miami: Whoo Hoo! This place is a pup's paradise. Fetch me my doggy bathrobe and lets get ready for my date with a certified dog-trainer. Wait, did I hear Dog-Trainer?  Yep,  all those pesky, but cute, little habits you want me to break, well, lets just say we can do it with class.  No worries because when we are all done, I have a nice little bed all to myself.

Let's head to Huntington Beach

With only a 10-minute drive from Disneyland, this city makes a perfect stop for the whole family, especially the canine members.  Huntington Beach is known for their dog-friendly attitude. There are so many things you can do and include us, I think it should be on my humans' list for our next vacation. From a cool dog park in Central Park, a beach that allows us to be leash-off, to some friendly restaurant patios, and even a few hotels that love us.

Huntington Beach  A super dog-friendly beach. With leash-off room to play some catch and socialize, this is a full day adventure to wear us out.

Waterford Beach, Hilton "Wag it at the Waterfront", offers a variety of amenities to both feline and canine companions, including pet beds, a feeding bowl, and custom selected treats. Pet sitting and a pet room-service menu are also available and can be arranged through hotel. "Our standard $50 pet fee is a per stay non-refundable fee".

Huntington Beach Central Park The website Stock Team is a great website on Central Park's rules as well as other activities for dogs around the Huntington Beach area.

Restaurants in Huntington beach  There are a lot of restaurants that cater to dogs with humans so you will easily find a lot to choose from. The Park Bench Cafe even has a doggie menu just for us and we can celebrate our birthday here! Oh, that reminds me, my birthday is coming up, someone tell my humans to take me here, I will order the Rover Easy.

Why we love the Fairmont

Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows- Santa Monica, California- Pets Stay Free! Seriously, what doesn't this place have for us.  Fairmont partnered with Healthy Spot to offer us our own spa treatments with luxury products by Isle of Dogs.  Imagine this, they offer blueberry facials!  Seriously now,  I wonder if they mind me tasting a sample of it. With complimentary treats, our own bed and bowl, I could lounge here all day long. But I might get tired and need a massage, what the heck, they have that too!

They are also carefully about pups with allergies. According to The Fairmont website, "If your dog has an allergy of any kind, please notify the front desk, and we will make every attempt to arrange a special treat just for your pet!

Fairmont- San Francisco: The Fairmont offers an actual mini-bar for dogs filled with Organic Peanut-brittle treats and decorated cookies.  We can also get toys, blankets, and spritzers to help us sleep peacefully in our own bed. They also have give us a silver dog tag as a welcome gift.

For those that can't make it to the Fairmont anytime soon, you can still pick us up some of the luxuries from Isle of Dogs on their website.

Bed and Breakfast- With Treats!

Some of the best Bed and Breakfasts also can include us dogs. Though they may be hard to find, I have checked out some of the ones that have gotten high marks from my canine crew. Of course, we probably can't sit on their couches, but my bud Darwin is well-behaved, so he only does that at home.

Homestead Rehoboth in Rehoboth Beach always comes out with high marks from both canine and humans! They only cater to adults and their dogs but that works for me. With plenty of room to roam on a two acres, this farmhouse B & B is decorated in a cozy cottage style just three miles from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  Homestead Rehoboth has received lots of awards for taking good care of us!

The Inn at Restful Paws Lodging and More located in Holland, Sturbridge, Brimfield area "is unique in many ways.  First, we are not only Pet Friendly; we are a one-of-a-kind truly Pet-Orientated lodging in Central Massachusetts. Situated on a private 31-acres this pet themed B & B offers amenities to both pets as well as their families. Every morning a complimentary, healthy, Restful Paws breakfast is served for your enjoyment."  Their guest wing gets double paws up from us since it is also handicap accessible!

I will continue to spotlight some amazing B & B's in the next couple months so check back.  A nice B & B can sure feel like home.

Photo of our pal Darwin. We just love him!

Check out the world's biggest beagle AND they welcome man's best friend!  I may not be a beagle, but I sure do love their style.   Check out the cool 2-story deck to bark from. And the bonus, four of my human friends can stay here with me!

Website states: "Responsible pets arriving with their well-behaved humans are welcome to stay with prior approval $15/pet non-refundable deposit"

    Dog-friendly Tips

Tank had been posting about his adventures and recommendations for a many years now. As a senior dog his explorations grew limited. He also battled with Canine Cognative Disorder his last two years. I am saddened to announce Tank took his last walk just two months shy of his 15th birthday.

For those who are his fans, know that he was always spoiled and loved. His explorations with us are our fondest memories.

Make sure to browse Tank's extensive archives for tons of ideas to enjoy with your best
